3 COLORADO DELTA C olorado Delta wants YOUR help identifying brothers to feature in future issues of The Stope. Do you know a SigEp with an interesting story to tell? Are you one of them? We want to hear from you! In our newsletters we love to share alumni stories of class reunions, family and friend connections, volunteer missions, career paths, unique hobbies, life accomplishments, and anything in between. If you have a suggestion, please contact our communications coordinator, Dan, at dbettenhausen@penningtonco.com with "SigEp Mines Spotlight" in the subject line. Thank you for staying connected with Colorado Delta. We are excited for your input on who we should feature next! T his semester, Colorado Delta has strived to uphold our values and cardinal principles by being our best selves—on campus and beyond. On Valentine's Day, SigEp held a bake sale fundraiser with Sigma Kappa to raise money for Alzheimer's research. In addition to making and selling baked goods, we spent time writing letters to retirement home residents. We raised $538 thanks to the success of Matthew Crabtree, our new philanthropy chairman. The chapter GPA was a 3.3 for the fall 2021 semester. We can now confirm we have the highest fall 2021 GPA among all fraternities and sororities. We are also above the all-male GPA as well!! We continued the annual tradition of partnering with UllrGrass to help run their music and beer festival. This annual festival is held in January and brings the Golden community together with live music, performing arts, and craft beer from local breweries. The event is non-profit with all proceeds going toward the Kids Music Project. Johnny Desrosiers '22 organized members to volunteer at the event, and we logged 90 man-hours for the Chapter. VP of Member Development Andrew Aikman '23 and Epsilon Coordinator Joey Herr '22 have been hard at work revamping the Epsilon Challenge for members who want to become brother mentors. In addition to completing 45 man-hours, members engage in discussions about house culture, the ritual and guide, and general topics related to personal growth. Participants also complete challenges that are designed to further their physical, intellectual, and professional lives with the goal of becoming a more balanced man in all aspects of life. Along with our recent lower-study renovation came nice new furniture and tables. Members have been using the space daily for collaborating on projects, hosting study sessions, or for just doing homework individually. We look forward to showing alumni these Chapter House updates and more—whether at E-Days, Homecoming, or just for an informal visit. Hope to see you soon!
