HONORING OUR PAST – 100 YEARS OF SISTERHOOD
O
n February 24, 1922, Sigma Sigma Sigma
Sorority was chartered at Pittsburg State
University; thus, our beloved Chi Chapter was
born. Our founding sisters believed in the power of
sisterhood and had a strong desire to build a lasting
community in southeast Kansas. Now, 100 years
later, these desires still ring true.
Since the beginning, we welcomed more than
2,000 young women into our sisterhood. Today,
Chi Chapter is filled with leaders, trailblazers,
scholars, volunteers, and more. The strength of
Sigma we see today was born from the women
who boldly founded our chapter, from the women
who continued the legacy each decade, from every
member who has proudly worn our letters, and
most importantly, from you.
As Tri Sigma has taught us, we all play an important
part in our sisterhood. If we wish for Chi Chapter
to continue its strong presence and leadership at
Pitt State, we must provide a safe, modern, and
competitive home. Now is the opportune time
to honor our past while building our future
for the next 100 years!

"Thinking about the new
Chi Chapter House, I am
most excited to have a safe,
updated, usable home that
will reflect the great and
deserving Sigma women."
