Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority – Chi Chapter
Pittsburg State University
2006 S. Elm Street
Pittsburg, KS 66762
Dear Alumnae of Tri-Sigma:
Congratulations to the Chi Chapter on the decision to launch fundraising activities to support the
construction of a new chapter house for its members. Pittsburg State University appreciates the
involvement Tri-Sigma undergraduates bring to the university and the support chapter alumnae have
provided to the institution throughout the chapter's history.
Greek letter organizations have a long and proud tradition at Pittsburg State University, and I know
membership in a Greek organization chapter plays an important role in members' lives. The
University administration is supportive of fraternities and sororities and their efforts to positively
impact the lives of our students.
Quality, living/learning environments for students are an important component of student success and
retention. The expectations of students of their living environment are continually increasing. The
university has taken steps to modernize and improve its on-campus residential facilities in recent
years, and many privately-owned student housing facilities have responded in similar fashion. It is
encouraging to see the same activities taking place in our chapter houses.
Supporting students in meeting the cost of attendance at the University is another important
component. Support of private giving is a critical element in this effort, and it is exciting to see the
organization launching efforts to contribute to the financial wellbeing of its member students.
Thank you for your efforts to launch and fulfill a capital campaign to address the need for a new
chapter house. Your decision to enhance the living environment will pay dividends for the students,
for the chapter, and for the University. I encourage all Sigma Sigma Sigma – Chi Chapter members to
respond generously to this campaign in recognition of the benefits you have received from the
organization and the university.
Sincerely,
Steven A. Scott, Ed.D.
