Setting an Example for Sisterhood TO BE A PI PHI IS TO BE A LEADER Angel UPDATE G E O R G I A A L P H A C H A P T E R UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA | SPRING 2022 P i Beta Phi's core values instill in all of us the power of sisterhood and the importance of relying on one another, whether that's a sister, a close friend or a leader we admire. At Georgia Alpha, we are consistently envisioning, inspiring and empowering a positive environment for our sisters to be their best selves. Enriching our members' personal endeavors and aiding the advancement of our values plays a fundamental role in our personal and intellectual ventures. To become the best version of ourselves, Pi Phi leaders operate under the philosophy of servant leadership; we prioritize serving first, then leading. We lead for the sake of serving our sisterhood and our members rather than for power, status or a personal agenda. To the members of Georgia Alpha, leadership means more than holding a title, whether in the chapter or beyond. To me, servant leadership means putting the members of Georgia Alpha first. As Chapter President, it is my responsibility to work hard for every member. The energy I put into my role as Chapter President is for the chapter, its members and our alumnae. Leading an organization full of friends and peers can be daunting at times; I always want to do my best for them. Knowing I have their support is what keeps me motivated. As "Friends and Leaders for Life," we not only prioritize Sincere Friendship among our members, but we also foster the leadership development of our sisters. By also focusing on our value of Personal and Intellectual Growth, we enrich the academic and leadership development of our members, setting them up for success in the future. As soon as I joined this chapter, I knew I wanted to be involved in a leadership role. I was motivated to seek out a leadership role because I wanted to help make Georgia Alpha the best it could be. This organization has given me so much and I wanted to give something back. One of my main goals is to help members implement the values of Sincere Friendship and Lifelong Commitment in their everyday lives. I also aspire to foster deeper relationships between active members and alumnae. Ultimately, I want to see the chapter succeed and make it better for future members. At Georgia Alpha, we focus on how we can improve, how we can influence and how we can serve. Our Fraternity's vision commits our sisterhood to "providing lifelong enrichment to our members and contributing to the betterment of society," which inherently calls on us to develop a Lifelong Commitment to leadership and personal development. As a leader, there is no greater joy than seeing improvement in those around us. We are forging our path as a sisterhood, and there's no doubt that Pi Phi will continue fostering leadership values in our members for years to come. I'm proud of my role in supporting servant leadership, and I'm proud of Georgia Alpha for our shared commitment to this mission.
