Before making your appointment please pick up a Taxpayer Intake/ Interview Package at the Library. Important documents to bring with you to the appointment are: • completed Form 13614-C Intake/ Interview & Quality Review Sheet, • previous years tax return, • all income documents, • photo ID for taxpayer & spouse, • Social Security card and/or ITIN notices/cards or other documenta- tion that show the taxpayer identifi - cation numbers for every individual on your return. • This year you are also required to bring the IRS Letter 6419; 2021 Total AARP offers Free Tax help Advanced Child Tax Credit Payment if you received advanced child tax credit payments during 2021 AND; • IRS Letter 6475, Your Third Eco- nomic Impact Payment (EIP3), if you DID NOT receive the EIP3 pay- ment in March 2021 and wish to claim it on your return. If you DID receive the EIP3 payment you MUST KNOW THE AMOUNT you received prior to making your appointment. The amount may be verifi ed through your fi nancial institution or the "Get Your Economic Impact Payment Status" link at www.irs.gov. By Joanne Winer The Heroes Appreciation Day cer- emony was held last Saturday at the Heroes Bell Gardens in Celia's Rainbow Gardens in the Town Park. There was a pretty good turn- out despite the wind. The monu- ments were fi nished by the Ohlsen family from Colorado who came on a Sunday and fi nished all six monu- ments by the following Friday just a day before the ceremony. They look awesome! We were unable to raise enough money to buy all the insignias and other plaques we need to put on the monuments from the different organizations that will be repre- sented. We will be putting donation cans around at several businesses and having several more fundrais- ers to get what we need to fi nish and landscape the area. Many of the organizations that are being recognized for their dedica- tion and work for our community were there to show their support and we thank every group who par- ticipated in the event. It was a great day to honor our military, fi rst re- sponders and other heroes this way and we will be doing it every fi rst Saturday in March, which is now offi cially Heroes Appreciation Day in Quartzsite. Special thanks to Home Depot in Lake Havasu City and Ace Hard- ware in Blythe for their donations of supplies and for getting them to us when we needed them. A special thanks also to Nicci Collier from Public Works and her crew for all their help getting things ready and helping with the work days. And, a very special thanks to the Ohlsen family for their hard work and won- derful job on the monuments, Thanks also to everyone who came out to show support for these he- roes who put their lives on the line every day to make our community safe and to help wherever they are needed.
