Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU)
continues to be a powerful economic
engine for the Middle Tennessee region,
with an economic impact of nearly $1.42
billion and almost 11,500 jobs statewide in
2021, according to a January report by the
Business and Economic Research Center of
the Jones College of Business.
MTSU is Murfreesboro's second-largest
employer and generates $143.6 million in
local, state, and federal tax revenue, the
report stated.
Redstone is proud of its connections to
the university. Redstone installed an ATM
on MTSU's campus more than a decade
ago and has a scholarship designated
especially for an MTSU student and
another for a Tennessee resident who
attends any accredited university.
Redstone also helps prepare students
for college through its high school and
community financial literacy programs.
Efforts such as the Blackman High
School's student-run branch work to build
a strong financial foundation among the
student population.
Wayne Sisco, Redstone's Senior Executive
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer,
is also an alumnus of MTSU.
"We congratulate MTSU on its impact
to the Murfreesboro community and
state. Redstone strives to be a catalyst
for change in our communities – just
as MTSU does. We continually look for
ways to support and engage with the
university's students, faculty, and
staff," Sisco said, a 1985 graduate in
business administration.
