BY GEORGE DICKIE Did the costumes and the beard help get you into the ruthless industrialist mindset of George Russell? Yes, absolutely (laughs). When I initially was cast, there was some talk about (19th century railroad magnate) Jay Gould, who if you look at images of him, it's mostly what you find in these caricatures of him looking kind of like Satan with an extremely long goatee. So I thought something that sort of nodded toward that would be good. Did you get rid of the beard when shooting was done? I did because I had to grow the beard – we were supposed to start shooting right at basically the week that the world locked down, so I had my beard all ready and I'd been growing it for months so that they would have a lot to work with. And then we punted. I mean, we didn't really know it was going to happen, right? I think when we went into lockdown, it was sort of inconceivable that anything like a set would ever really work again. And then miraculously the unions and the producers got together and figured out a set of protocols that actually worked pretty well.
