The Rose McIver-star- ring comedy has been an un- qualified hit with viewers and critics alike since its premiere, so the much bigger surprise would have been if it hadn't been renewed ... which simply wasn't going to happen. Moreover, the show's ratings have kept improving, and that sort of growth is what any network wants to see in one of its series — particularly one with the potential to stay strong for a while. More good news for ViacomCBS is that "Ghosts" also fares extreme- ly well on the Paramount+ streaming service, so rest as- sured that it will be around for some time to come. Q : Now that Lori Lough- lin has acted again in "When Hope Calls," will she be making more movies, too? — Marianne Bond, Fruita, Colo. A : We would expect so, and that likely would be for GAC Family, which picked up "When Hope Calls" after its first season on Hallmark outlets. As is widely known, Hallmark eliminated all Lough- lin-related content — to the ex- tent of editing "When Calls the Heart" episodes to remove her scenes — after her connection to the college-admissions scandal became known. Former Hallmark Channel chief Bill Abbott now runs GAC Family, and he's made a point of luring as much Hallmark talent as he can. Social media has confirmed that Loughlin still has a sizable fan base, which likely contributed to Abbott's decision to bring her into "When Hope Calls," so it seems probable that he also would offer movie work to her.
