REPAIR Harry Rice BLM APPROVED! 225-253-6581 Celia's Rainbow Gardens at Quartzsite Town Pak has a new area opened up just a few years ago. It's called the Heroes Bell Gardens and the inten- tion is to honor our Heroes and how much they do for us. There are six monuments to honor the military, 9-11, fi re and rescue, law enforcement, other heroes, and a smaller one to honor service animals like police and military Across the nation, the blood supply is at dangerously low supply levels, and that situation is impacting us here Arizona as well. Quartzsite Improvement Associa- tion (QIA) with the American Red Cross will host a Blood Drive at on March 16th, 9am-3pm. The QIA is located at 235 E. Ironwood St. Quartzsite. Blood components have a short shelf life and the blood supply needs to be constantly replenished. Blood can take up to three days to be test- ed, processed and made available for patients, so it's the blood already on the shelves that helps save lives in an emergency. In the U.S., more than 16 million units of blood and blood products are transfused an- nually with more than 45,000 units needed daily. The omicron variant is the latest COVID-19 complication that has forced the cancellation of commu- nity blood drives, which lessens the number of healthy and available do- nors. Making a blood donation is a simple way to recognize the heroic efforts of health care workers nationwide while serving patients in need. All blood types are critically need- ed, with a severe need for type O and platelet donations. Type O is of- ten needed in emergencies and for routine lifesaving surgeries, cancer treatments and more. About half of all platelet donations support can- cer patients. Platelets, which help form blood clots and stop bleeding, also help those living with blood disorders and undergoing open- heart surgery and transplants. The American Red Cross is urg- ing eligible, healthy individuals to contact their local blood center and make an appointment to do- nate blood today. We also ask local businesses to encourage their em- ployees, including those working remotely, to fi nd their local blood donation center and schedule an appointment to donate throughout 2022. Doing so is essential to main- taining the stability of the nation's blood supply, which ensures life- saving medical treatments are avail- able for patients. The blood community relies on the generosity of blood donors to help save lives throughout the year. Donors must feel well on the day of their donation. There's no wait- ing period to donate for those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine or seasonal fl u vaccine if all other eligibility requirements are met. Appointments are recommended in order to help maintain social dis- tancing. Please schedule your reserva- tion today! https://www.redcrossblood.org/ give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor =85346 or on the QIA's website, http://www.qiaarizona.org/ RedCrossBloodDrive.html P & Z public hearing on proposed Desert Gardens rezone P & Z public hearing on proposed Desert Gardens rezone P & Z public hearing on proposed Please join us to celebrate the dedi- cation off these beautiful monu- ments and meet our real heroes!!
