BY GEORGE DICKIE How difficult is it balancing the humor with the reality that your alcoholic character Sam has a very serious problem? It's really hard (laughs). It's really hard. I kind of knew it would be when I first read the script, which is I think part of why I wanted to do it. I like a challenge. But yeah, I was constantly kind of checking in with Jenni (Konner, series co- creator), checking in with Simone (Finch, also a co-creator), checking in with my castmates and the amazing directors that we had come in and really trying to toe that line. Because I try to never play the joke and play all of it as truthfully as possible. But yeah, tonally as a show I find it to be tricky. I think if we can get it, though, and we hit it right, it's hopefully very rewarding because my favorite kind of shows are the ones that make you laugh until you cry. Production details are still in discussion, but the show is expected to continue the format it has used since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. InFocus "Killing Eve" (BBC America — season premiere, Feb. 27) Eve, Villanelle and Carolyn (Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw) each finds herself in an unfamiliar emotional place as this multi-award-winning thriller returns for its fourth and final season, which comprises eight episodes. After their meaningful exchange on the bridge at the climax of Season 3, Eve (Oh) embarks on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a new community as she struggles to prove she's not a monster.
