BY GEORGE DICKIE What kind of renovation projects do you steer clients away from? I would steer them away from projects where the renovation itself starts to cost more than what the neighborhood can bear. You know, you never want to over renovate to the point where you can't get your money out of it. So whatever we do – and you'll see this in the season – we'd sit down with our clients and we'd see realistically what they can get for the house once it's fully renovated if they had to or ever wanted to sell it to make sure that we're not over renovating for the neighborhood. What about the old maxim of buying the worst house in a great neighborhood. Do you see a lot of buyers looking for that as a means of gaining fast equity? (laughs) Yes, that's still tried and true. You know, there's some things that will always make sense ..., which is obviously buy something that has the potential to have equity in it already. That's our rule when we were flipping houses. That's our rule also with clients who are looking for their dream homes.
