T his fall, 25 brothers are living in the chapter house, and we are expecting 20-23 in the spring. The house is in good condition, and we're taking care of a few projects. House updates this fall included minor floor repair in Great Hall, plus extra grip added to the floors in other places. They were very slippery before, creating a safety hazard when wet. While it's a routine process, we are glad to say we also passed our fire inspections. Currently, the ceiling above the TV room is under repair; it has started to sag. The ceiling has been dropped down during the process and should be fixed soon. Fraternally, Jim Twomey (Γ1856) VNR Maintenance and Operations T his semester, the university allowed us to have registered socials again. Those events all went well, and we had good relations with the compliance officers. We had a few tailgates in the early football season with both alumni and undergraduates in attendance. The Homecoming tailgate in particular brought in Gamma men of all ages, and it was awesome to connect with the older alumni. For the Homecoming parade, we partnered with the engineering sorority Phi Sigma Rho and Women in Business. Everyone did a great job with our Toy Story-themed float; we placed fifth overall! We participated in intramurals this semester as well, including softball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, flag football, and indoor soccer with Delta Gamma. We also had THON events at the house as well with our partner, Phi Sigma Sigma, and had a date auction for the Phi Sig formal (which raised over $1,000 for our philanthropy). We also hosted a "Mario Kart" tournament in Great Hall; this and the formal both had great brotherhood turnouts. It's been wonderful to host in-person events on campus once again, and I look forward to more ways to engage the brotherhood in 2022!
