Delta Upsilon Update 2 National Council came to this decision after reviewing the archives, analyzing membership statistics, consulting with the DEIA committee, and observing the policy in action. As we reexamine our policies and practices through a lens of equity, we recognize that our legacy policy has given preferential treatment to PNMs whose relatives had greater access to higher education or were given the privilege to join Greek life over other marginalized groups. A full statement on this change can be found at https://tinyurl.com/sklegacypolicy. NHQ Archives Through a partnership with HistoryIT, a transformative technology archival company, NHQ will make national and chapter artifacts virtually accessible to all members for years to come. Currently, more than 10,000 items are being digitally preserved by the HistoryIT team for Sigma Kappa's digital museum. Launching in June 2022, this dynamic site will share Sigma Kappa's history with current and future generations. When history is accessible, we have the chance to connect with moments in time, engage with fellow members, and see Sigma Kappa's history from a new perspective. National Headquarters Updates for 2021 (Continued from page 1) A fter seven years with our chapter, Pam Strohl (aka Momma Strohl) has decided to leave Sigma Kappa. We can certainly understand her reason for leaving, as she is excited to help raise her first grandchild! She has done an excellent job as House Director, and we wish her all our best; she will be missed. We conducted an extensive search this summer and are very happy to announce that Andrea Giger is our new House Director. Andrea comes to us from a 30-year career with the Missouri Department of Mental Health. She is a service-oriented person with 30 years of experience in program development and oversight, including 22 years of direct supervisory experience and 13 years over- seeing the daily management, supervision, and oversight of eight ISL waiver group homes. Andrea's personality, professionalism, and experience are a perfect fit for House Director, and we are excited for you all to meet her. We think you will find her warm, approachable, and professional. Andrea comes to us with an additional member of the Delta Upsilon family: Ava, her 11-pound Havapoo service dog that alerts Andrea if she may need medical attention. Ava is a certified service dog and is well trained and behaved. Please take a moment to stop by introduce yourself to Andrea. I am sure she will enjoy meeting each and every one of you!
