Broadway #168 Columbia, MO 65201 Address Service Requested MO ALPHA PHI The D uring this past year, the Missouri Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta has received national recognition from General Headquarters and has been awarded the Silver Star Outstanding Chapter Excellence Award, Chapter Academics Award, Excellence in Risk Prevention, and Excellence in Philanthropy. In addition to our Excellence in Philanthropy Award, we became an Iron Phi Chapter by raising over $10,000 for the LiveLikeLou Foundation supporting ALS. So far this semester, the men of Phi Delta Theta have kept busy. We started August off with a very successful recruitment, initially reaching 51 members in our fall Phikeia class through formal and informal recruitment. Our house maintained high retention rates as we received the highest rate of preference on the days leading up to house visits and bid day. Shortly after recruitment, we dove straight into Mizzou's annual Homecoming with the women of Pi Beta Phi. This year, our theme was Mario, and we had a great showing throughout this celebration, finishing first in service, decorate the district, and banner, and second in blood donations and float. Although we did not achieve the final result we were expecting, finishing Homecoming fifth place overall, the men of Phi Delta Theta and the women of Pi Beta Phi put in countless hours of hard work, and we could not be prouder of our efforts. Furthermore, we were blessed to be able to go on our formal to Memphis, Tennessee, in October. Despite the restrictions the university placed on Greeks during the time, Phi Delt was still able to have our formal with the trust and confidence of MU. Our main event of the weekend was on Saturday night, when pledge classes went out to enjoy a meal together before every Phi and their date enjoyed an amazing riverboat cruise. After our formal concluded, we were planning on having our biggest philanthropy event of the year, Phi Delta Theta's haunted house. Due to extenuating circumstances, however, this was unable to happen. We are now planning another event to take place this winter to replace our haunted house so that we can still raise a significant amount of money for LiveLikeLou. Finally, we are in the process of electing our new executive board for the 2022 calendar year. Once these new officers have been elected, we will be sure to send out an update.
