"Being Blago" ABC Owned Television Stations produced this four-part documentary series that follows the post-prison life of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was convicted of public corruption, impeached and sent to federal prison. Through interviews and archival footage, the series looks at how he finds purpose and whether he will run for public office again. (ORIGINAL) "Movie: Encounter" Michael Pearce ("Beast") directed this sci-fi thriller that stars Riz Ahmed ("Sound of Metal," "The Night Of ") as Malik, a U.S. Marine veteran who takes his two young sons on the run from an impending alien threat. The talented cast also includes Octavia Spencer, Janina Gavankar, Rory Cochrane and Lucian-River Chauhan. (ORIGINAL) "Movie: Single All the Way" Desperate to avoid his family's judgment over his perpetual single status, a man (Michael Urie) asks his best friend (Philemon Chambers) to accompany him as his significant other. The only problem is his mother (Kathy Najimy) has set him up on a blind date with her handsome trainer James (Luke Macfarlane) in this romantic comedy from director Michael Mayer ("27 Dresses"). "Duck the Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special" (Available now) This 2018 episode from the Disney Channel series "Mickey Mouse" finds Donald going against his instincts to fly south for the winter, instead opting to stay home for the holiday. To celebrate the occasion, Mickey endeavors to make Donald's first Christmas the greatest ever. Page 8 December 6 - 12, 2021 InFocus "Earth Emergency" (PBS — documentary premiere, Dec. 29) Richard Gere narrates this one-hour documentary in which a number of respected climate scientists explain how human activity causes dangerous warming "feedback loops" that push the climate to a point of no return, and discuss what can be done to stop them. The overall tone of the documentary, while stark in its warning, is somewhat more hopeful than other such projects, presenting a happier future if changes are made soon.
