FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT
Our financial education team, which had previously taught classes in the schools
and at other community agencies, began to host webinars for those entities to
access online. e team also created fun videos filled with lessons that young
people could easily identify with, such as "wants vs. needs." e webinars are
recorded and available for viewing at any time.
Financial empowerment refers to taking the fear and helplessness out of handling
your finances.
Redstone's Briana Cousins, financial education coordinator, has created a 12-week
financial empowerment series that does just what it says. Briana teaches this
curriculum at the Downtown Rescue Mission and offers it virtually in an 8-week
series called Power-Up. e next Power-Up module will start in February 2022.
Another course for youth, called Level UP, is being created by Redstone's Kaeshier
Fernandez, financial education coordinator, and will debut this year.

fairs, mock interviews, teachers' receptions,
