THE TRADITION OF MISSOURI ALPHA
S
ince its founding in 1870, Missouri Alpha has been the premier men's
organization for young leaders, scholars, and men of service. In 2016, both
our alumni and collegians recommitted to MO Alpha through the capital
campaign to support the renovation of our house at 101 E. Burnam Road and the
recolonization of the chapter—our alumni showed up in unprecedented
ways. We recolonized with an emphasis on returning to the core ideals of Phi
Delta Theta and the greatness that is Missouri Alpha. Thanks to the dedicated
support of our alumni, our recolonization only took seven months from start
to finish. This was the first time in Phi Delta history that a chapter went from
colony to a chartered chapter in that short of a timespan.
Missouri Alpha is one of the top contenders in academics, athletics, on-campus
leadership, philanthropy, and service. We are committed to raising the bar for
what a college fraternity can achieve and what a fraternity man can become.
As we move into our next 150 years, we hope to continue the strong legacy
of our chapter. We are celebrating this occasion with another commitment
to our brothers, their academic pursuits, and the continued maintenance
of our beautiful home.
"The purpose of this campaign is to keep
housing cost down for the undergraduate
members and provide scholarships for
deserving members. We don't want price
to ever prevent excellent young men from
joining Phi Delta Theta. Having a diverse
group of men from all types of economic
backgrounds has always been one of our strengths."
