W
e are so pleased to be able to resume our Strand of Pearls
newsletter!
After very strict protocols at the chapter house last year due to
COVID-19, it was great to welcome out-of-house members, UIUC
visitors, and parents back to the chapter house in August! Our
collegiate members maintained a positive attitude and kept each other
safe by following our guidelines. This year, UIUC also returned to
in-person recruitment for the last two rounds, and the hard work of the
members was rewarded with 28 outstanding new sisters!
An additional impact of the pandemic was house operational costs
doubling. We are in our second year of only doing maintenance and
safety items for the chapter house. We hope that resuming more typical
operations, along with an increase in the number of house residents,
will allow us to be able to resume interior updates and improvements in
the near future.
We hope you enjoy the update from the chapter and the house photos
included in this edition of the newsletter, and we hope that you and
your families are well.
