Wolverine Sig page 2 I t feels good to be back at 548 South State Street! It's hard to believe we took for granted in-person meetings with our fellow board members and the undergraduates! We had a full investiture this September since we could not maintain that tradition last year. The Chapter, Advisory Board, our province partners, and House Corporation are working hard to get back on schedule and prioritize the things we must do as a fraternity. We are learning to adapt to the challenges of recruitment restrictions and the evolving public health policies. The Chapter and the officers are well positioned to have a successful year. Although COVID-19 regulations are subsiding, we continue to offer virtual House Corporation meetings to ensure anyone can join if they would like to. On that note, I would like to extend an invitation to brothers who would like to contribute their time and experiences to join us. The time commitment is modest, and we would like to expand our board to include brothers beyond our radius and ensure turnover with defined four-year terms. We are fortunate to say that our finances remain strong, and we continue to pay down our debt. It is time once again to refinance our commercial mortgage with an expected balance of about $200,000. We look forward to the time soon when we have retired our debt and have about $50,000 in improved cash flow annually to put into our sinking fund. To stay true to our roots and strengthen our brotherhood, the fraternity has increased emphasis on the ritual. It takes effort to appreciate and practice these important events. They are the unique fibers of our common bond and are shared among all brothers of Sigma Chi. In the future, we will need volunteers to assist with ritual events; it's a great way to stay connected, and there is no better way to give back to the fraternity. Please reach out to us via our website, thetatheta.com. Many others and I look forward to introducing a new board member or two who joins remotely. We encourage all alumni to consider a House Corporation term as well as participation at a ritual event this year. I am confident you will receive more than you give! Feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. As always, we thank you for your continued support and dedication to Theta Theta.
