During Larry's final board meeting in August 2018, he announced his gifting of $125,000 to profoundly assist in retiring the $230,000 mortgage. Inspired by brother Buss's incredible generosity of this transformational gift, brothers Jon Fleming '75, David Rush '85, and Kurt Tjaden '85 partnered with Larry in providing the additional financial support needed to achieve his vision. Because of this astounding generosity, the mortgage was paid in full on March 17, 2021, resulting in a debt-free status for the alumni corporation for the first time in recent memory. Thank you, brothers, for spearheading your efforts toward our organization. THE BEST IS YET TO COME In-Person Activities Allow for Brotherhood Gatherings I t's difficult to say if life on the Iowa State's campus will ever be completely normal again, but the 2021-22 school year is positively different than last year. With more in-person involvement on campus, we've been able to gather as a brotherhood once again. We had a successful tailgate for the Iowa State vs. University of Northern Iowa football game, and I had the pleasure of visiting with many brothers who I hadn't seen in some time. There never seems to be enough time to visit with everyone, so I hope we have a larger crowd next year to reminisce and stay connected with even more brothers. Speaking of next year, I hope everyone circles September 15-18, 2022, on their calendar. We will be celebrating 100 years as a fraternity on the ISU campus. The brothers who started the Mohawk Club, which transitioned into Theta Chi Fraternity, deserve our gratitude. Their foresight created a brotherhood that holds true to this day. While other fraternities have ceased to exist on campus, Theta Chi has a debt-free house and a solid group of undergraduate brothers to carry on the tradition of the Helping Hand. Our alumni support has made it possible to award scholarships each year. Thank you each of you who has contributed to help provide our members with the ultimate Alpha Mu experience!
