www.alpha6294.com Theta xi T he Alpha Chapter of Theta Xi has dealt with immense adversity over the past couple of years with the COVID-19 pandemic, delayed recruitment, and the scrutiny of the Rensselaer administration. Despite these challenges, the active members have reflected on their tremendous love and respect for our brotherhood, house, and connections. Through this newfound enthusiasm and self-worth, the chapter sent out nine bids this fall and received eight signatures. In concurrence with recruitment this fall, Alpha Chapter has continued its outreach within the Rensselaer community. Our first philanthropy event of the semester was the new Pie a Xi fundraiser, where students, faculty, and alumni got the joy of pieing active brothers in the face. For just $1 per pie, brothers helped to fundraise around $200 for Habitat for Humanity. Coming up next is our annual Oakwood Cemetery cleanup and Dog Days. The brothers will be hosting Dog Days with Pi Beta Phi sorority in the Alpha Chapter house to support the Rensselaer campus and promote positive mental health and well-being. Alongside our focus on community service, there has been a targeted goal to promote career development of not just our brothers, but also the Rensselaer community as a whole. Jeff Wenner '22 (A1753) has organized career development workshops for all students to help with resumes, interview practice, and networking. More workshops are to come, and the hope is to get more alumni to attend and provide insight on their journeys and expertise. As always, community service and career development remain a top priority for the chapter. With the fall semester nearing its halfway point, Alpha Chapter will continue to reach out to the community and grow collectively as a memorable name on the RPI campus. Members are focusing on the growth of their brand, both on campus and through social media, in efforts to boost our connections within the community. Brothers greatly appreciate all the help we receive from alumni and recognize the great perseverance we have shown together. We are excited for the new possibilities and fun to come!
