PAGE 2 TAU TALK how much money they received at the end of the night is something I'll never forget." Moments like this have impacted Isaac as a teacher. Working with a variety of ages, he has seen many struggles, and it's been rewarding to help them and make a difference. He once wore a Dance Marathon t-shirt at one of the schools he worked at; a colleague approached him and shared that her son always participated in Dance Marathon and that it was the best day of the year for him. She proceeded to thank Isaac for participating in the event because it meant so much to her family. Isaac makes a difference in the lives of his students. They may have been terrible at math in middle school, for example, but Isaac helps them succeed to the point that these students will come back as juniors and seniors in high school to thank him for his help and inform him that they're going to major in engineering. This year, Isaac became the chapter advisor for Gamma Upsilon. He has enjoyed his experience so far because he gets to see the chapter from the perspective of an alumnus. He also likes the role of being a mentor and guide for collegians and help them in a way that he wouldn't be able to in his classrooms. Being the chapter advisor has been rewarding for Isaac because he sees how well the chapter is doing. He has noticed the successes of the brothers and made it a point to be there for them as a resource. "These guys know what their goal is, and the steps they need to take to get there. They've won six True Merit Bowls and have a 3.4 cumulative GPA, and I want them to maintain that success." In his free time, Isaac enjoys staying active. He enjoys playing basketball, skateboarding, and hiking. He also loves the outdoors and live music. You can connect with Isaac at ipsilver15@gmail.com.
