RETURNING TO NORMAL AT USC Sisters Celebrate In-Person Events This Fall A fter a year of remote classes, sisterhood events, and chapter meetings due to COVID-19, California Gamma and USC have slowly started to return to normal. One of the most exciting changes is that our house, thanks to the Chapter House Corporation, is now open and at full capacity. It is so nice to see our members enjoying our beautiful home away from home and using all of the facilities it has to offer. Whether members are singing and playing piano, utilizing our study rooms to maintain our chapter GPA of 3.78, or just hanging out with sisters, everyone is so happy that the house is up and running again. While we were able to have virtual sisterhood events last semester, we were finally able to host some in- person sisterhood events this semester. e New Members all came to the house for a catered dinner and a Cookie Shine and were able to meet all of their sisters. Our members are so happy to be back in person to spend time with their sisters and deepen the bonds of Sincere Friendship that Pi Beta Phi values. On October 9, we welcomed our parents to the house during Family Weekend, and on October 10, we finally presented the classes of 2020 and 2021. It was such a special weekend to have families from all over come spend time with their daughters and see them presented. We were thrilled to finally host our Arrowspike philanthropy event October 29. Arrowspike is a volleyball tournament open to the entire fraternity/sorority community where fraternities compete for bragging rights; all proceeds benefit Read > Lead > AchieveĀ®. It is a day full of fun that always raises a lot of money for a philanthropic effort we are all so passionate about. Vice President Community Relations Skyler Savage '20 and Director of Service and Philanthropy Isabel Anderson '20 have been in contact with the USC magnet elementary school to restart our Champions Are ReadersĀ® program. is is an amazing California Gamma initiative; our members enjoy our famous brunch at the house and then walk over to the elementary school together to read to the kids. We look forward to what the rest of this year has in store, and we can't wait to see more of our alumnae on campus!
