WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM 16 UCW NOVEMBER -28, 2021 EDUCATION Spring classes begin in January Submitted by FTCC MARKETING At Fayetteville Technical Commu- nity College, students have a unique opportunity to receive a high-quality education conveniently offered online or in the traditional classroom at an affordable price. Students can com- plete an associate degree, certificate or diploma program of study and be quickly qualified to successfully com- pete in today's workforce. FTCC un- derstands that better skills lead to bet- ter jobs with better pay. FTCC's major program areas provide many options for students. e major program areas are business, computer information technology, engineering, healthcare, human service technology, media and fine arts, public safety, skilled trades and university transfer. Students who pursue university transfer options earn their first two years of study at FTCC with an associate degree, resulting in financial savings with tuition and other expenses, and then transfer to an ap- proved four-year college or university for the remaining two years of college study in pursuit of a four-year degree. Whether pursuing training to obtain better skills for better jobs or as a foundation with the goal of continued training at the four-year college level and beyond, the options offered at FTCC are broad and provide students much flexibility for finding a way for- ward that works on a personal level. At FTCC, students have opportuni- ties to apply for financial aid, receive encouragement and support from success coaches, receive tutoring from the Student Learning Center and have access to a wide variety of college resources and experiences which enhance the educational journey including athletics, student clubs and organizations, music and art and more. Earning a two-year degree, certificate or diploma in a trades skill, such as A/C, heating and refrigera- tion or a two-year degree in nursing or criminal justice not only leads to employment opportunities with excel- lent pay but also significant savings, avoiding thousands of dollars in loan debt. FTCC students who transfer to four-year colleges after completing an associate degree perform well in the four-year college environment.
