Chair r speaksspeaks Military Leadership Business Luncheon Set The Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chris Bostock Business Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its sixth annual Military Leadership Business Luncheon in the Fall of 2010. This an- nual event features a military representative to address issues pertaining to the military leadership community and draws more than 300 attendees. Each year, your Chamber raises the bar with the caliber of keynote speaker and this year will prove to be no diff erent. While we cannot confi rm the exact date due to the speaker’s schedule, or the speaker at this time, attendees can expect to hear from the highest levels of the defense department. Since its creation in 2005, the Military ssSpotlightSpotlight annual Chamber Fly-in: The Washington Perspective. Join us Monday, Sept. 13 to Tuesday, Sept. 14. Monday includes an address from Dr. Joseph DeSimone, University of North Carolina professor of chemistry and “Tarheel of the Year,” a panel of experts on N.C. military-business opportunities, a briefi ng from Representa- tives including McIntyre, G.K. Butterfi eld, Bob Etheridge, Larry Kissell, Walter Jones, Mel Watt, Virginia Foxx, Patrick McHenry, and Heath Shuler. The Monday session concludes with a social mixer with all representatives. The packed Tuesday session on Sept. 14, which runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., includes a breakfast, and last year included such speakers as Gen. Wesley Clark, news anchor Judy Woodruff , U.S. Agriculture Secetary Tom Vilsack, Leadership Business Luncheon has grown to be one of the Chamber’s most successful events. We have had keynote speakers to include: Adm. Eric T. Olson, com- mander of the Unites States Special Operations Command (USSO- COM); Gen. Charles C. Campbell, commander of the U.S. Forces Com- mand; CSM (R) Steven England; LTC (R) Scott Dorney; Brig. Gen. Al Aycock, garrison commander; and Troy E. Gilleland, Jr. Last year, this sold out event provided a great forum for our communi- ty to hear from a speaker who understands the impact military has on our community and allowed your business to gain recognition not only in front of our membership, but also with the surrounding counties, non-members and the military leaders in attendance. Howard Dean, and former Senator Trent Lott. All events take place in the central Capitol Visitor Center.
