In addition to Mosie, Porter thanks Marshall St. Amant '23 for being a strong role model and pushing him to pursue all he can in Sigma Chi and on campus while focusing on his academics. "I am very thankful for their friendships and will continue to follow in their footsteps." Upon graduating from Ole Miss, Porter plans to earn his certified professional accountant degree within UM's School of Accountancy. "Then, I would like to attend law school and potentially work in corporate law for a large corporation to handle legal allegations they may face, specifically antitrust law," he shared. Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Porter is currently in an off- campus house with other pledge brothers. He is excited about the future of the chapter house. "Though part of our house is still under construction (chapter room, basement, dorms), the renovation process is easy to forget when we are all able to congregate once again under our beloved Mother Eta," Porter said. "Changes occur every year, but the place where memories were made will always be remembered. Not being in our house for the past year was difficult, but I can say that we can handle the temporary renovations when there is a long future of memories to be made." Porter is deeply appreciative of the over 200 brothers and friends of Eta Chapter who have collectively pledged more than $2.4 million toward the Building on a Tradition of Excellence capital campaign goal of $2.5 million. "I'm very thankful for Sigma Chi and all that it has offered me thus far, and I looked forward to a lifetime of learning and giving back!"
