The next 110 Years
W
e have the unique ability, as graduate brothers, to shape the future of Beta
Kappa—a future in which we can all be proud. If we wish for Phi Gamma
Delta to maintain a strong, unbroken presence on CU's campus, we must
ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and permanent facility for members to
thrive. Now is the appropriate time to secure Phi Gam's permanent future at CU.
1930
During the 1930s, a diamond-shaped chapter room was constructed on the southern
end of the chapter house, so when facing the house from the street, it made the le end
appear triangular. at room was only used for formal meetings.
1969
Beta Kappa lost its charter at the height of the Vietnam War protests, civil rights
protests, and social turmoil of the 1960s, and the chapter house was sold. e property
was purchased by the Evans Scholars and remains in their possession. e diamond-
shaped addition was eventually demolished and made into standard rectangular-shaped
rooms in approximately 2016.
1976
Beta Kappa was rechartered and initially located at 788 19th St., on the corner of 19th
Street and Cascade Avenue.
1978
Phi Gamma Delta purchased the former Sigma Chi house, which stood on the corner
of 17th Street and Aurora Avenue at 1715 Aurora Ave. e FIJI chapter house was the
only fraternity house in the Rocky Mountain region with a swimming pool, basketball
court, and sand volleyball court.
2005
FIJI le campus for the last time, and the chapter house at 1715 Aurora Ave. was
eventually sold, torn down, and replaced by apartments and Acacia Fraternity in 2015.
2018
Phi Gamma Delta made a triumphant return to CU's campus in February 2018 and
successfully rechartered in November 2019. Beta Kappa currently occupies 1114 12th
St., off 12th and College Avenue.
