On October 16 2021 the E CLAMPUS VITIS dedicated a plaque at the "Ty- son's Well Stage Station Museum. The plaque will be to commemorate the history of the museum building being called "FT. TYSON" as a nick- name. Because it was the fi rst build- ing built in the area and was a sub- stantial structure. It was never used as a military fort. It was used as a safe place for the neighbors and miners to come to under times of distress. Quartzsite Museum is sponsoring our version of Trunk or Treat at the Community Center October 30, 2021.Come and meet Mr. Bones at Mr. Bones Candy Shop! Some of the things we will be having at our Can- dy Shop will be Cotton Candy, Can- dy Bags, Face Painting for 50 cents, Face Stickers for 25 cents, and Cof- fee for the adults 50 cents. All Do- nations will go to the Museum to help with the up keep and programs for the Quartzsite Museum. Other Happenings at the Museum for this month of October: October 13th was the Monthly Meeting of the Quartzsite Histori- cal Society held at the Town Library conference Room. If you would like to become a member of the Histori- cal Society, the dues are only $10 per year. Contact number 928-916- 4562 ask for Lynn. Our Monthly Field Trip will be an- nounced at a later date. Field trips are the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Call Lynn 928-916-4562 to fi nd out more about where we are going. Museum news The Desert Amateur Radio Club (DARC) is offering "Ham Radio License In a Day" with testing to immediately follow the class. The class and testing are free. Pre- Registration required. Contact Cass at 520-909-2706 or email: deserthams@gmail.com. A FRN is required to take the test go to: www.fcc.gov/cores to register for your FRN and bring your number to class. The "Ham Radio License In a Day" class is 8-4 with testing immediately following dates are: Oct 22nd, Nov 12th and 26, Dec 10, Jan 14, and Feb 11.
