When they hop, kangaroos use only their hind legs, which move together, much like those of a rabbit. Stand in one spot with your feet together. Now make a giant hop. How far did you hop? Mark that distance on the above grid. Look how far a gray roo, a red roo and a rabbit can hop. How do you compare? Standards Link: Letter sequencing. Recognize identical words. Skim and scan reading. Recall spelling patterns. Find the words by looking up, down, backwards, forwards, sideways and diagonally. Standards Link: Number Sense: Solve problems using multiplication.
