Recruitment We're working hard to create opportunities for prospective members to meet AGR men, tour our home, and learn about the fraternity. Our goal this year is to secure 12 quality new members. Four men have already committed and we have offered membership to a handful of terrific prospects. If you know a young man who will be attending the university, please encourage him to: • CONNECT with me. • APPLY for a Leadership Scholarship online at umnagr.com. We continue to offer awards, even after our traditional Labor Day deadline. These awards are funded by the Lambda Educational Foundation and help us meet great young men to recruit. • FOLLOW our Facebook page for a full schedule of recruitment events. For many years, new Lambda members completed formal brotherhood chats with alumni. These chats take about an hour and help build personal relationships within AGR. We hope this helps connect members with alumni friends and mentors within our exceptional brotherhood. Please contact me at woyda010@umn.edu to get involved. Join the Ski-U-Mania alumni pregame party as head coach PJ Fleck and the Gopher football team take on Bowling Green at Huntington Bank Stadium. Visit homecoming.umn.edu for more info. Brothers celebrating the 2021 Spittoon game Spring Chapter Events COVID-19 limited our events last semester, but we still made some of our favorites work. We were thrilled to celebrate a victory in the annual Spittoon softball game by a commanding 17 runs. Mitch Bobendrier #1801 was chosen as king for the 2021 Minnesota Royal event. It was fun to watch several AGR alumni serve as judges and volunteers throughout this year's festivities. With COVID restrictions in mind, we journeyed out of the chapter house and attended several farm tours. We visited brothers' farms throughout southeast Minnesota to tour facilities and learn from local experts. We look forward to a new year of fun, creative activities, and hopefully some normalcy! We celebrated brothers who met their goals at a special dinner. Scholarship team "drafts" are a highlight each semester. Like a fantasy sports league, brothers join a scholarship team and push each other to achieve in the classroom. Lambda's Educational Foundation funds $25,000+ in scholarships for deserving brothers each year. Dollars recognize individual achievements, help recruit exceptional young men, and lower college costs for brothers who work hard in the classroom. Christian Reveland #1838 VNR Scholarship
