Campaign Participation Pivotal — Chapter House Construction Set to Begin in Spring 2022 Help us make this a reality with your pledge today! W hether or not we recognized it at the time, the alumnae who came before us played a significant role in shaping our Pi Beta Phi experience at the University of Minnesota. I'm incredibly thankful for the Minnesota Alpha alumnae who have realized it's paramount to pay it forward so today's collegians and future sisters also have a beautiful home where they can build Sincere Friendships. The 88 loyal sisters and friends of Minnesota Alpha who have collectively committed more than $561,000 to the Our Home. Continuing the Legacy at 1109. campaign have done more than their part to lay a solid foundation for Pi Beta Phi's future at U of M. With renovation plans solidified, now is the time for all remaining sisters to join in and contribute to this important initiative to help Minnesota Alpha reach our $1 million fundraising goal to support this critical project. We are anticipating breaking ground in Spring 2022 and completing the project by the time the collegians move back in for the Fall 2022 semester. Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) Housing Director Allie Quicke met with Shea—the designer chosen by Chapter Housing Corporation (CHC) in 2019—and CSL Management to review Shea's full proposal for services in July and August. This proposal document, which was made with the goal of creating an updated, modernized and youthful living experience, works off the general project scope that was created and approved by CHC in 2019 prior to the transition to FHC. Highlights of the planned renovations include: • Commissary kitchen – create new flow and layout, plus replacements for expired equipment. • Member kitchenette – increase space and functionality for personal and off-hours use. • Dining room – create space for dining and studying, including differentiated seating and increased serving space. • Laundry – move to first floor and retrofit existing restroom to accommodate. No design or aesthetic updates to first floor are included. • Second floor restroom and shower rooms – update and modernize, plus creation of adjacent lounge and vanity space for multiple members to use at one time. • Third floor – develop revised floor plan (see right) to maximize use of space. The strategic planning and conceptual design portions of the project are considered done based on the work completed by CHC. As formal plans are proposed by Shea, FHC will create an advisory team of its own, which typically consists of a couple members of the Alumnae Advisory Committee, members of the Chapter Leadership Team and any additional key stakeholders, in this case, potentially a member of the Campaign Committee and the house director. The advisory committee will be kept up-to-date on the timeline and be asked for feedback on elements such as layout, furnishings, finishes and lighting. Let's Make It Happen for Minnesota Alpha (Continued on back) Our Home. Our Home. Continuing the Legacy at 1109. Continuing the Legacy at 1109. *Floor plans and renderings are fluid and subject to change based on budget and further review. Current floor plan for the third floor.*
