DELTA UPSILON 1 116 YEARS OF ILLINOIS CHAPTER TRADITION T he Illinois Chapter of Delta Upsilon has been a constant fixture of the Illinois Greek community since 1905. Throughout our 116-year history, we have welcomed over 1,800 young men into our brotherhood. During our collegiate years in Champaign, we acquired valuable assets, such as leadership development, personal growth, social skills, and brotherhood, to ultimately become better men for a global society. While the member experience today is different than the founding class's experience, the principles of friendship, character, and justice and the diffusion of a liberal culture are timeless. Despite all the changes in our world since 1905, young men need the brotherhood, camaraderie, and values-based education that our fraternity provides. Our chapter house, built in 1926, has consistently housed the chapter since its completion. For nearly a century the house has served as an incubator for the special bonds that make up our brotherhood. The last improvement to the house occurred in the 1980s, meaning it's been over 40 years since our house has been updated. For Delta Upsilon to remain competitive on campus, we must improve our house to meet the needs of today's students.
