DDD page 5 T hroughout a difficult and constantly changing year as we adapted to the new normal, Delta Xi had an extremely successful year. I'm so proud of our sisters persevering and overcoming the many obstacles presented by the pandemic while staying committed to the sisterhood and living Tri Delta's values, and I'm excited to share the below highlights. SISTERHOOD IN BLOOM During recruitment in the fall, our chapter had a 100% return rate for potential new members in the incoming freshman class. We had one of the most successful recruitments we have ever had, despite recruitment being entirely virtual! RECORD-BREAKING FUNDRAISING In April, Delta Xi held our annual philanthropic event, 24K in a Day, to fundraise for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our members persistently reached out to family members, alumnae, and blasted social media to fundraise for 24 hours. Delta Xi hit an all-time-high record this year, raising $56,257 in just 24 hours, far surpassing our goal of raising $24,000. We reached $24,000 in just four hours, which has never been done by any Tri Delta chapter before. Delta Xi has currently raised about $80,000 since January 2021, and we are hopeful to reach our goal of more than $100,000 raised for St. Jude by December. We are very thankful for our generous alumnae for helping us reach our goals as well. REINVIGORATED BY CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT Delta Xi participated in Mizzou's Greek Week and won first place in the Alpha Epsilon Pi's Rock-a-thon fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Delta Xi is eager to participate in Mizzou's Homecoming in the fall and looks forward to having members engage in the blood drive, community service, dance and skit performance, and the Homecoming parade. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Academics have remained a top priority at Delta Xi, and 34 members received a 4.0 GPA in the spring semester, which ranked us 5th out of 15 sororities on campus for grades. Our previous president, Lauren Curcio '17, has received a job with Tri Delta National and will begin working for them this fall. GRATEFUL FOR SUPPORTIVE SISTERHOOD We hope you and yours are healthy and well, and we sincerely look forward to connecting with all our wonderful alumnae at the Chapter House this fall. We are so thankful for our new and beautiful house renovations. Although recruitment was held via Zoom this year, Delta Xi was still able to show off our new house virtually and gained an amazing new pledge class! Middle: Delta Xi's 2020-21 chapter leadership team. We were thankful to have such an amazing group of young women lead our chapter through such a different year in the fields of operations, programming and chapter development, community relations, and membership experience. D elta Xi's recruitment team has been preparing for fall formal recruitment 2021 since February! With 15 sororities in our Panhellenic Association (PHA) community at Mizzou, you can imagine how fierce the competition is to pledge outstanding new members. Our PHA is reporting that we could see the number of women registering for recruitment grow by 200 women, putting total registration at 1,400. With anticipation of registration numbers being the largest we have seen in many years, references are critical to help the chapter identify quality Potential New Members. As always, we are so appreciative of the references we receive from our Tri Delta alumnae, and please know it is critical to the continued success of our Delta Xi Chapter! Three ways to submit a reference: 1. Reference forms can be found at tridelta.org, and you can submit a digital reference for Delta Xi via the website. 2. Email references directly to Delta Xi at mizzoutrideltareferences@gmail.com. 3. Mail hard-copy references to Tri Delta, 901 Richmond Avenue, Columbia, MO 65201.
