Beta Tau Housing Corporation of Sigma Kappa at the University of Florida • Summer 2021 Beta Tau ConnSKtion D espite the tumultuous changes we have all faced during the past year, we are truly proud of all the incredible accomplishments that Beta Tau has achieved during the last several months. Through ongoing discussion with the current chapter leaders, we are confident that Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa will keep excelling in the coming school year. Chapter Accolades We want to take this opportunity to highlight a few of their many accomplishments from last fall through the end of the 2020-21 school year. Not only did Beta Tau have the largest recruitment in our history during fall 2020 and spring 2021, but they also brought home several awards in 2020: the Helen Mamarchev Greek Person of the Year Award, the James E. Scott Living the Ritual Award, the Outstanding Community Service Program recognition, and the Dr. Michael Bowie Greek Involvement Award. Beta Tau also received the Three Star Standards of Excellence Award—the highest honor a Sigma Kappa Chapter can receive. Additionally, chapter women raised more than $18,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. We are in awe of their dedication to their chapter, school community, and service. Preparing for Future Gators Over the summer, we will be working diligently to get our beautiful house ready to welcome the next class of Florida Gators, as most of fall recruitment will be back in person. We look forward to the opportunity to invite the women going through fall 2021 recruitment into our home. If you are interested in supporting the women of Beta Tau during recruitment in whatever form you can, it is sincerely appreciated. Please reach out to Jeanneen Watson for more details at btcorpboardVP@gmail.com and look for future communication on how to contribute. Celebrating 75 Years of Sigma Kappa at UF One of our main goals as the house corporation board this year is to reunite our alumnae from all decades to come together and solidify the future success of our chapter. One of the ways that you can help is by contributing to the Digital Museum to commemorate 75 years of Beta Tau. We are also working hard to create more opportunities and events for alumnae to reconnect in person. We are hoping you are as excited as we are for our Summer Sleepover Soiree in July. The house corporation board, along with the entire Beta Tau Chapter, welcomes your thoughts, encouragement, and support during the coming months.
