BY GEORGE DICKIE It's one thing to come from behind a microphone and get in front of a camera. It's another thing to put your butt on the line in doing it. What is it inside you that wants to succeed? What is it in you that wants to overcome the obstacle? Just getting down to the core of it, I think it's probably just searching for some sort of love. For me, that's why I got on stage to do comedy. That's why I was able to get behind a microphone and do radio or even TV now, was I didn't have a lot of love growing up. And I started to find love in these places. ... When I wrote my first book, there were some stories in there that I was not ashamed of but I thought, "Man, if people see this, they're going to judge me and feel sorry for me." What happened the most was, people would say, "Hey, I felt that." Like, no one's ever spoken for me. And so that's why I pushed through this. I've hated doing a lot of these actual missions, but there was never a second that I was going to not do them. But I'm supposed to hate them. I believe you don't grow unless you're uncomfortable. Among all the crazy experiences you have faced in the show, which one was the most challenging? That's a good question because they've all been so different. I used to have two fears that crippled me: commitment and heights. I no longer have fear of commitment because I am engaged for the first time ... . However, heights is still there. ...
