Executive-produced by Robert and Michelle King, who already have "The Good Fight" on Paramount+, the Katja Herbers-starring "Evil" is relocating there from the CBS broadcast network start- ing Sunday, June 20 — only about a month after the an- nouncement was made. Production on Season 2 ended relatively recently, since as with so many shows, it had been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. "Evil" hasn't been seen in more than a year, so some viewers may need a refresher in what happened in its first season. That is available on Para- mount+, and it's also been on DVD since last summer. Q : I know the "Nancy Drew" episode that featured Tom Swift was supposed to be the pilot for a spinoff series. When is that coming? - Jeff Miner, Bellaire, Ohio A : It's not certain at this time. The show isn't on the 2021-22 schedule that The CW announced in May, but it supposedly is still under consideration by the network. One plus it would seem to have going for it is the in- volvement of LeVar Burton, who plays the artificial-intelli- gence pal created by wealthy science whiz Tom (Tian Rich- ards). If Burton's much-antici- pated stint as a guest host on "Jeopardy!" at the end of July gets as much attention as the buildup to it, that could only be good for "Tom Swift." Q : Is Mark Harmon leav- ing "NCIS," and if so, when? — Faith Hughes, via e-mail A : This might have been a tougher question to an- swer, had his character Gibbs not been seen swimming away from the boat explosion that capped Season 18 of the CBS adventure-drama last month. It was an interesting creative choice to show that then, since "Did he survive?" often is the kind of cliffhanger question meant to keep view- ers guessing all summer. As it stands, it's not en- tirely clear how much of the upcoming season Harmon might be in, since there has been discussion of his possibly having a reduced on-camera role. He's also an executive producer of the se- ries, but CBS has said it will be happy to have him appear in as much of the season as he wants to do (of course). The show already has one regular-cast-member slot to fill, since Emily Wickersham's Ellie Bishop made her exit in that May finale.
