"Whenever I am approached about fundraisers, I ask myself whether I
believe in the cause. Hopefully everyone reading this newsletter replies
with a resounding 'YES, of course!'" Patty said. "I believe if each of us
looks hard at our personal spending, there are options to redirect those
dollars to our new home campaign. Every penny matters!"
From Bid Day to Dad's Weekend, the memories Patty has from her
Tau Beta undergraduate experience are still near and dear to her heart.
One of Patty's fondest Tau Beta memories occurred less than two years
ago when she attended a multi-year class reunion at the Chapter House.
While she loved catching up with her sisters, she couldn't help but
notice how the Chapter House could no longer accommodate the active
Chapter's membership and how many other Greek organizations had
recently built or were building new chapter houses.
"I knew that weekend it was only a matter of time before Tau Beta
would need to rebuild," Patty said. "I wanted to be a part of that giving
legacy for future generations of outstanding Tau Betas. Just as others
before us supported what we needed, it's time to support what's needed
now and the many years to come."
Patty is proud of how Tau Beta has always been top on campus in every-
thing from highest grades to holding strong leadership positions in many
organizations. The main thing that sticks out to her about Chi Omega
at OSU, though, is how sisters support one another to help everyone
achieve their own potential. Just as Patty strived to meet common goals
with her sisters and celebrate individual successes along the away as a
Tau Beta collegian, she's enjoyed doing the same as a campaign
class leader.
"The timing was right for me to give back with my time and effort and
was long overdue. My involvement blossomed as I reconnected with not
only my class but also sisters throughout the late 1960s and across the
1970s," Patty said. "It has been a true blessing to catch up with so many
and hear about their life stories over the past few decades. This campaign
has been my lifeline throughout the pandemic and the many days of
social isolation."
