3 DELTA TAU DELTA D espite COVID-19 restrictions at Ball State University, Epsilon Mu Chapter was pleased to welcome three new members to Delta Tau Delta. Spring recruitment was conducted virtually, mirroring the prior semester. With the nationwide decrease of men pledging due to COVID-19, Zoom recruitment was a unique experience. Recruitment began February 1 and lasted through February 8. We recorded a new house tour video and explained what it truly means to be a Delt, as well as the values associated with our fraternity through a PowerPoint presentation. Even though COVID-19 has impacted the overall college experience, we have made the most of our time at Ball State. We hosted brotherhood events such as pool tournaments, sports-relat- ed tournaments, and a bracket challenge for March Madness. These events helped create a fun environment during these unprecedented, historic times. We started a new academic competi- tion in the house to ensure brothers are keeping up with their studies. The teams are compiled of four brothers, and both the top team and most improved team receive a reward at the end of the school year. Thankfully, none of us have tested positive for COVID-19 this semester. The cleaning crew is doing an outstanding job maintaining the Shelter as a clean and healthy environment. We wear masks on and off campus to keep the facility, students, and community safe. With little social interaction in the world today, living with 45 brothers during this pandemic has given us a valued and unique example of what brotherhood can mean. With hopes of campus returning to normal in the fall, we have begun the process of bring- ing the annual Delta Tau Delta philanthropy, Watermelon Bust, back to Ball State. We will be looking for alumni help to restart this Delt tradition. All the brothers of Epsilon Mu are looking forward to hosting alumni at the Shelter again in the near future. We can't wait to see you all again soon! Fraternally, Nate Sink '23 Chapter President nrsink@bsu.edu LOOKING AHEAD Epsilon Mu Actives Hopeful for a Return to Normal in the Fall Welcome, New Members!
