5 The Plan for Our Home As the project came into focus, there were four major priorities: 1. Improving the exterior to protect our home and to improve the public image of Sigma Chi 2. Addressing the living experience within our home, including common areas worn down over time and private spaces in need of upgrades 3. Overhauling infrastructural components of our home long overdue for both the safety of our members and guests and the operating costs of our residents 4. Strategic funds to support Mu Mu with academic and leadership opportunities, removing the financial burden of facility maintenance, and retiring the mortgage A chain's durability is measured by the strength of its weakest link. Without a competitive and safe home, supporting the chapter's academic and leadership growth, and ensuring the financial foundation for Mu Mu, we leave our fate up to chance. Le is the first impression as you enter Mu Mu, above is the foyer of the Phi Psi house. A New Face for Sigma Chi One component of this project was to re-imagine the look of our home. Inspired by the Hamrick home (above)—with which Mu Mu has many legacy connections—imagine heading up the hill to see two-story white columns all along the front of the house, with a prominent front porch and "SIGMA CHI" in big, bold letters across the front. We are still investigating a potential design but included are two examples of either a 4-column or 6-column look. Feedback on components like this are why we are asking for your involvement in this study as it would be a big change for Mu Mu.
