CHI OMEGA 3 Χ Ω I am honored to serve as president for the Nu Chapter of Chi Omega and excited to share some updates with you! This year has been filled with such uncertainty as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly caused heightened anxiety levels. However, if I've learned one thing over the course of this chaotic year, it is the real importance of fostering and maintaining our relationships. While many things remain outside of our control, our Chapter is a constant source of love, support, and sisterhood. Year after year, Nu Chapter's academic efforts are acknowledged, and this semester was no different. We earned the second- highest fall GPA in PHA at the University of Wisconsin, with a 3.657. We are very proud of the hard work sisters dedicate to their studies and continue to place #ScholarshipAboveSocialObligation. This spring, under COVID-19 guidelines, Nu Chapter hosted an incredibly successful Cookie Dough with Chi O philanthropy event. The whole Chapter participated in making edible cookie dough during the day and selling it that night on both State Street and Langdon. In total, we raised $1,215 just from this event alone. We also took our annual in-person auction online this year and raised a whopping $1,787. All proceeds went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant a wish! Additionally, we connected with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin families and spotlighted a different family at Chapter each week. Sisters were able to hear their stories and ask questions to further our relationship with Make-A-Wish. This semester, Nu Chapter planned several sensational sisterhoods, all while adhering to social distancing guidelines. We started off with a cookie decorating sisterhood where sisters took decorating kits and cookies back to their homes and gathered in small groups to participate. We then gathered outside in groups of 50 for an ice skating sisterhood. The 2020 pledge class met in person for the first time and had a great time meeting their new sisters! We took advantage of every opportunity possible and had women stop by the house several times to pick up donuts, bagels, and spring rolls. Additionally, our diversity, equity, and inclusion chairmen collaborated to plan virtual Netflix parties and brought Victoria Garrick to speak at one of our Zoom Chapter meetings about mental health and body image. We hope this newsletter helps you reconnect with Nu Chapter and keeps you informed on all things Chi Omega. Our Chapter could not run without the help of our friends, family, advisers, and amazing alumnae! Thank you for your continued support. I cannot wait to see what this fall has in store for Nu, and we hope we can be back together in person very soon. Active Chapter Finds Success Despite Challenges Presented by Ongoing Pandemic Our 2021 senior class gathers for the last time to celebrate their time as active members of Nu Chapter. We will miss them dearly and can't wait to see everything they accomplish. Hopefully, they will visit us again soon as alumnae sisters! Our ice skating sisterhood event was a huge success this year!
