Our Plan to Secure Zeta Psi's Future 5 I n 2022 our organization will celebrate 140 years at the University of Cincinnati and the Sigma Chi Building Company will turn 100. To mark this historic time, we want to ensure our organization builds upon the tradition of excellence laid out in years prior. e Zeta Psi alumni and undergraduate leadership have developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Sigma Chi experience on the University of Cincinnati campus. rough careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that updates and improvements to 2617 University Court are necessary. e Sigma Chi Building Company has entered into a contract with Rowland Design and is developing architectural renderings of the proposed chapter facility. Priorities of this facility are to ensure a safe, modern and upgraded living facility for UC Sigs, allowing the chapter to be more competitive with on-campus and local apartment living. OUR VISION n RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION HIGHLIGHTS • Expanded dining room – to seat more brothers in a communal space, building bonds over meals with one another • Relocate and rebuild kitchen – allowing for more energy efficiencies and better food service quality for brothers to enjoy • New night kitchen area • Upgraded library – allow more dedicated study space for members to utilize in achieving academic success • Expanded chapter room – to comfortably seat all brothers at meetings and initiations • Addition of museum and history room – properly showcase the achievements and success of Zeta Psi collegiate and alumni members • Enhanced dorm wing – cleaner, modern look to enhance feel of space • New dedicated laundry room • New dedicated weight room • New windows to allow for more natural light • New staircase to connect the common areas of the house • Technology – upgrades and state-of-the-art Wi-Fi system throughout the house • Brotherhood lounge – an area where brothers can watch a Bearcat game, play cards or shoot pool • New outdoor amenities and features • Enhanced security and privacy features ZETA PSI CHAPTER HOUSE TIMELINE Circa 1890s: Address Unknown McMicken Homestead: 1909-1919 140 West Universit y Ave.: 1919-1931 2900 Woodside Place: 1931-1970 2617 Universit y Court: 1970-Today
