The foundations of our free society are being challenged and questioned by those who desire a change. We live in a day that our culture is bent on, "calling evil good, and good evil." It is sad, but those who choose to serve and protect are being villainized while the perpetrators are being honored. Our law enforcement and fi rst responders are trained to run toward danger, not to run away from it. When a call of distress is made, it is the brave men and women who suit up and are there to bring help in diffi cult situations. They are willing to put themselves in harm's way in order to provide safety to others. The media, community activists, celebrities and politicians are quick to paint the entire profession with a broad stroke of negativity, due to the actions of a few, "bad apples." For a free society to survive, we need those who provide law and order. As a whole, those who go to work everyday to protect the general public and to enforce the laws are good people. Most of them do what they do because it is a life's calling. The next time someone is breaking into your house or you are in a dangerous situation, call a celebrity, a news reporter, a community organizer or a politician and see how fast they come to your rescue. May God bless and protect those who serve in law enforcement and our fi rst responders.
