Briar Rose is specifically focused on the portion of the population that appreciates made-from-scratch, real dairy, authentic patisserie. "We openly admit our products are not the lowest fat content," Larry said. "We use real butter, real cream cheese, real sour cream, real fruit, etc., etc. We also make our own fillings, fruit, pastry creams, lemon curds, raspberry and strawberry purees all from fresh fruits. We are not a high-volume bakery, we cater to those who can taste the difference." Briar Rose was created as a family project and opened in 2011. At times almost every family member in Arkansas has worked in the bakery: mother, father, son, daughter, son-in-law, and uncle. It is owned by Diane and Larry together but operated on a daily basis by Diane and son-in-law Brad, who functions as general manager. Briar Rose has won Best Dessert awards for nine consecutive years! e bakery is clearly a labor of love. And that has not been lost on the Farmington community over the past 10 years. "Children have written us poems about how much they like the bakery," Larry smiled. "We have customers who have been loyal for 10 years, and watched kids grow up coming through the special kids entrance. Seeing others having fun makes everyone happy." Damons BBQ and Biergarten opened as a roadside business over 12 years ago and has had Brett Bowden, Larry and Diane's son, continuously working as Pit Master. e graduation from roadside stand to indoor seating and Biergarten occurred in 2020 when Damons opened its new permanent building. "Farmington had no place for teams, groups and the like to gather," Larry explained. "And recently Farmington voted to allow alcohol, so the idea of being Farmington's first Biergarten was seeded." Damons creates unique BBQ based on a Santa Maria Style, simple but profound in its uniqueness. Special oak flame pits grill whole tri tip sirloin roast to perfection and they serve it on a fire toasted garlic bread. "Damons is designed for families to enjoy a meal, and for everyone to relax in a 2400 square foot Biergarten chatting and refreshing themselves," Larry said. "What really sets us apart is the attention to small batch authentic BBQ. at and our creative staff." Larry and Diane are very proud of the vision and dream they have realized with Farmington Village. And they wouldn't want to be anywhere else. "We considered many locations," Larry said.
