all 2020 ended on a good note, as everyone
was excited for the new executive team to
step into their roles and work together to better
the chapter. Sisters were ready to go home for a
long-needed break, as COVID-19 had taken away
all of our regular breaks throughout the semester.
Even though we went home at Thanksgiving, we
still stayed connected as a chapter through Zoom
events. COVID prevented us from having many
events—even those solely with our chapter.
Thankfully, the spring has been a very different
story! Sisters were excited to return in January
with a new sense of happiness and hope for
Alpha Xi Delta. Our chapter morale has increased
significantly since we're able to host more events
on campus, as there are very few cases in the
area. Everyone is still doing their part to protect
the pack, but it is a relief to see restrictions
gradually ease as more people get their vaccines.
In January, we held initiation and welcomed 19
new sisters into Alpha Xi Delta. We're lucky to
have these amazing women who will make our
chapter better and stronger! Each one is outgoing,
strong, funny, and would do anything for her
sisters. It is amazing to see how they have all
bonded and become best friends in this crazy
time. We cannot wait to see what leadership roles
they take on in the future, as they have great
ideas and already love Alpha Xi Delta as much as
the older members do.
We have continued to host a sisterhood event
every week, including game nights, movie nights,
and planting succulents. We are excited to have
gained five new members so far this spring and
our recruitment efforts continue this semester.
We were also thrilled to host our first in-person
philanthropy event in a while, Mac and Cheese
with the Alpha Xi's, on April 1.
It's so great to have more events and time with
our sisters in person, and we cannot wait to see
how much our chapter can grow throughout the
next year as COVID slows down and allows us to
be together.
Yours in Alpha Xi,
