Barber '42 entered Chapter Eternal on October 16, 2020, at the age of 100, after a long and well-lived life. Upon graduation from MIT, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant, where he served during WWII. It was during this time, while stationed in Bermuda, that he met (and later married) the love of his life, Evelyn "Sis" McGuckin, who he was married to for 57 years before she predeceased him. Donn was honorably discharged at the war's end as a captain. As a father, Donn always wanted the best for his children, expanding their horizons with travel to other parts of the country. They were always treated to summer vacations in South Carolina and Maine, where he and his brother built a summer camp on a lake (Woods Pond in Bridgton, Maine). Donn created a "forever" rite of passage into independence for the Barber kids: swimming across the lake and back, with him alongside in his beloved canoe. He embraced change, whether it was in new technology or in personal growth, and after retirement from a long and successful career with Dupont, he secured a real estate license to stay engaged with the world and with the Kennett community that he so dearly loved. Donn was always open to new ideas and changing views that created a more welcoming world. The model of Servant Leadership, he served his country, his community, and his family. In addition to his service in the Army, Donn served as a deacon and elder of the Kennett Square Presbyterian Church, as president of Kennett Lions Club, and district governor of Lions (District 14-P). He also championed the work of Lions Club's eyesight initiatives, chaired the Chester County United Way Annual Fund Drive, regularly transported blood for the blood bank, and chaired the energy committee at Jenner's Pond. Donn will be dearly missed and always remembered by his children, granddaughters, and his great-grandson. Henry C. Young Jr. '57 entered Chapter Eternal on February 12, 2021. After graduating from MIT, Henry went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law, specializing in patent law. He then worked for Goodyear for 63 years, first as a chemical engineer and later as a patent attorney, before retiring in 2019. Henry loved sailing and was a member of the Portage Lakes Yacht Club, serving as commodore in 1973. He was also a 50-year member of the Akron Sail and Power Squadron, sailing to many ports of call over the years. Henry's greatest passion was managing the Young-Martin farm in Missouri where he kept meticulous records of all the family gatherings there. Henry will be missed by his friends, family, and Beta Theta Pi Brothers. Dr. Bruce "Greg" Brown '62 entered Chapter Eternal after complications from a respiratory injury. He had also been suffering from dementia. Greg was known to us while at MIT as a gifted and hardworking student and an outstanding athlete. In his professional life as a research cardiologist at the University of Washington, Johns Hopkins, and elsewhere, he made a number of important improvements in cardiac healthcare. He is survived by his wife, Sherri Del Bene, and daughter, Sienna Brown, who live in the Seattle area. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. CHAPTER ETERNAL FOLLOW US ONLINE
