Sigma Chi 3 T he pandemic forced the Zeta Psi active chapter to find new ways to do recruitment, initiation, chapter meetings, and just about everything else, but despite the challenges, our brotherhood remains strong. I am extremely proud of the extraordinary efforts of every brother to help us overcome the many obstacles we've faced. I am grateful for the leadership of Recruitment Chairmen Ben Cummins '23 and Jack Troy '24, who expanded our pre-recruitment week strategy to enable us to conduct events that adhered to COVID-19 protocols. ey did this all while ensuring we were recruiting men who would live up to the Jordan Standard. Zeta Psi welcomed 10 new members as a result of their efforts. I also want to recognize Magister Connor "Bearcat" Martin '21 and his crew for showing our new members what it means to pursue the ideals of our White Cross. I am proud of how brothers have pursued and thrived in leadership roles in other campus organizations. Isaac Baxter '22 serves as president for UC Chorus. Ethan Miller '21 is the president for Artist Reps UC, which he founded to promote students creating original music, literature, and film. e men in our fall 2020 new member class are already positioning themselves to be leaders on campus by joining organizations such as Queen City Consulting, Students Consulting Non-Profit Organizations, the UC Cheering Team, and Engineers Without Borders. As we strive to be more involved on campus, we're still prioritizing academic excellence. at was evident with our 3.5 GPA from the fall semester. Zeta Psi has also recently celebrated a few special off-campus accomplishments by a couple of our brothers. Drew Siegmundt '24 achieved a milestone in his journey to become a commercial airline pilot by earning his private license. Larry Wilson '24, a competitive weightlier, set a new Kentucky state record in the 195-pound weight class for both the bench press (385 pounds) and the combined total of bench press, squat, and deadli (1,405 pounds). It says a lot about our brotherhood that we have men of many talents, temperaments, and convictions. It was unfortunate that we didn't get to say our proper farewells to our brothers in the class of 2020, but we've enjoyed hearing about the success they've already achieved in the first months of their careers. I'm sure that our seniors who are set to graduate this spring will go on to accomplish some amazing things as well, and I'm glad that they've helped in our mission to finish this academic year strong.
