ENSURING OUR FUTURE ALPHA GAMMA RHO | PAGE 5 W e are so thankful for those who chose to support the Lambda: Proud Past — Promising Future to Make Better Men campaign. It was a huge success, raising more than $2,700,000. The new Chapter facility is truly outstanding, and we are proud to call it our home. However, our job is not finished, and the Lambda Alumni Board feels strongly that we need to develop a vision for the next 25 years of Lambda. To do this, we analyzed at our current financial status and cash flows, spoke with the undergraduates, and are now looking for alumni feedback on our priorities to make sure we take a tactical approach for the future of our Chapter. CHAPTER DYNAMICS TODAY Number of brothers currently in Lambda. The suspension of the Chapter after Brother Fulton's passing prevented us from recruiting for a full cycle; long term, we expect the Chapter to be at around 50 members. The Chapter pays $130,000 in rent regardless of how many brothers live in the facility. This guarantees the alumni corporation the revenue it needs to operate the facility and allows the Chapter to use the facility as best suits their needs. The current debt payment from our renovation. Including the interest only on the note for the Clocker property would increase that by $15,000. If we can retire these debts, we will be able to use the $60,000 freed up annually to maintain 2060 Carter. The percentage increase in the cost to go to the University of Minnesota since 1970. We award $30,000 annually from our endowment and alumni support, but there is a need to increase increase scholarship for our brothers. Dream achieved by acquiring the Clocker property. The house has been demolished and we are starting with a blank space. We are looking into a variety of options, including additional parking, green space, a sports court, or a dining facility, to enhance alumni and undergraduate use of the property. 35 1 $130,000 $45,000+ 2802% THE NEED Up to $750,000 to ensure Lambda remains competitive • $500,000 – Increase scholarship endowment to increase annual scholarships awarded from $30,000 to $60,000 • Up to $250,000 – Develop the Clocker property into a competitive space that enhances the Lambda experience $720,000 to be sustainable from rent payments • $300,000 - Retire debt on 2060 Carter Avenue from renovation • $320,000 - Cover acquisition/demolition costs of Clocker property • $100,000 - Short-term capital expenditures including roof and HVAC repairs and reworking showers
