OUR STRONG HISTORY
A
lpha Gamma Rho has a storied history, starting
when Alpha Gamma Rho and Delta Rho Sigma
came together on April 4, 1908, to form our national
organization. Less than a decade later on April 14,
1917, Lambda Chapter was founded at the University
of Minnesota.
For more than a century, Lambda has provided
young men with outstanding opportunities to better
themselves. Many brothers have gone on to great
success, including 25 men recognized as AGR's
Brothers of the Century, five recognized with AGR's
Grand President's Award for young alumni (three
since 2014), and our own Maynard H. Coe '17, who
was one of the first inductees into Alpha Gamma
Rho's Hall of Fame and a leader in the beginning of
our great fraternity. Even with our strong history, we
must not rest on our laurels; we have an obligation to
push forward and make the best men we can.
The recent Lambda: Proud Past — Promising Future
to Make Better Men campaign was a resounding
success and allowed us to construct a top-tier facility
for our brothers. Now, we must look to the future
and ensure our success by focusing on several
key priorities that will allow Lambda to prosper
without the need for continual alumni funding. We
look forward to your feedback on our plan and this
approach.
