MARCH 21-27, 2021 Spring Break Has Sprung LARA JO HIGHTOWER NWA Democrat-Gazette F or spring break 2020, we were facing an uncertain future — area schools were closing, and covid-19 cases were multiplying. Things look a little brighter for spring break 2021: vaccinations are on the rise as positive cases of covid-19 continue to drop. As a result, there are quite a few opportunities for students looking for ways to occupy their spring break free time, and options include both in-person and virtual activities. Fayetteville Walton Arts Center waltonartscenter.org or 443-5600 Virtual Broadway Master Class 6-8 pm March 22-26 $250 Broadway performer Adam Kantor will share his experience and technique through this Zoom class. Students can fully participate in the 10 hours of instruction and receive direct feedback from Kantor. The class will help participants develop individual audition techniques including perfect- ing a monologue, acting through the song, finding yourself in the material, best practices and how to tackle choreography. Those who audit the class for $75 can learn from watching others work. Arts Live Theatre 818 N. Sang, Fayetteville 521-4932 Young Performers Inc. March 18-26 10 a.m.-noon Ages 8-12 $130 Actors will work together over the course of five days to rehearse and perform a new twist on the classic tale of "The Adventures of Robin Hood." Teen Thespians March 18-26 1-3 p.m. Ages 13-18 $130 Over the course of five days young actors of all skill levels will work together online to rehearse and perform their virtual modern version of one of Shakespeare's most famous comedies, "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
