MEMORIES ON MILLEDGE p. 4 PBF A s I look back on the one-year anniversary of the nationwide shutdown due to COVID-19, I'm so proud of all Georgia Alpha has accomplished. From planning a virtual Initiation that allowed alumnae to attend on Zoom to successfully facilitating safe in- person sisterhood events that adhered to strict COVID-19 guidelines for active members last fall, our members have been so patient and positive while we all find new ways to connect during this time. e women on the Chapter Leadership Team have gone above and beyond in their dedication to this chapter by finding ways to help all other members feel a deep sense of belonging at Georgia Alpha. is spring, we welcomed nine new members who are extremely eager to become initiated members. UGA has begun transitioning to an "as normal as possible" spring 2021 semester by allowing more socially distant, in-person classes so students can come to campus. UGA, Panhellenic Council and Georgia Alpha have already been brainstorming other ways to safely normalize our current environment on campus. With hopeful plans of a modified in-person fall 2021 recruitment and weekly chapter meetings and programming, everyone is constantly working together to provide the best possible college experience. Here in the 886, we are looking forward to the renovation starting mid-May. Since the renovation will be done in stages, we are so fortunate that the house will remain open for members to live in for the 2021-22 academic year. Once finished, the updated house will be so great for our future members to enjoy. We also look forward to seeing alumnae at our virtual Founders' Day celebration on April 24 and hopefully in person at other events in the near future. Now more than ever, nothing is more important than the continued love and support of our sisterhood. Not having our normal amount of in-person programming this past year has helped all members truly understand what and who is most important to them. Our sisterhood bond has grown so much closer, and we are grateful for the time we do have with each other. As we all begin to see society moving more toward normalcy, we can't wait to see what the future holds for Georgia Alpha.
